Focaccia
The focaccia is an Italian bread that is prepared with a slow fermentation. It is very easy to prepare and requires no kneading for the dough. Once prepared, it is perfect for eating as a sandwich or as a dip with sauces.
Ingredients
- Bread flour (450 g)
- Water (350 mL)
- Yeast (5 g)
- Salt (9 g)
- Olive oil
- Desired topping*
Note
The topping to put on top of the focaccia can be almost anything, but vegetables are recommended.
Steps
- Mix all ingredients in a large bowl until they are fully integrated.
- Let the bowl rest in the fridge for
12~24 hours. - Spread the dough over an oiled trey and let it rest
2~4 hours. - Put oil on your hands, then introduce the fingers (while being separated) on the dough to create extra bubbles on the surface. Do not knead!
- Preheat the oven at 220 °C. Meanwhile, put the toppings and olive oil on top of the focaccia.
- Bake in the oven for
25-30 minutes.
