Migas

One very traditional Spanish dish is "migas", cooked out of stale bread.


Ingredients

  • Stale bread
  • Garlic (3~6 cloves)
  • Chorizo
  • Ham in cubes (optional)
  • Green peas (optional)
  • Egg (optional)
  • Paprika powder
  • Olive oil

Steps

  1. Break the bread in small pieces that can easily be eaten.
  2. Put a decent amount of oil in a pan, then stir-fry in it the garlic (chopped in thik slices), the chorizo and the ham. Cook for 🕰️ 5~7 minutes.
  3. Lower the heat to medium-low, then add the bread, the green peas and the paprika powder. Let it all cook for 🕰️ 10 minutes.
  4. You can top the plate with a fried egg on top.

Tip

This dish is a great combination together with other "tapas", like "Pimientos de padron" or "Patatas bravas".
